MNblockchain Went to D.C.

The policy organization Stand With Crypto flew us to D.C. along with many others in the industry for Stand With Crypto Day May 14. MNblockchain’s Brook Oldre and Brandon Ferdig attended this third annual event, where 60 blockchain professionals from around the country met with the members of Congress.

Each region visited several congresspeople, sharing their experience in the industry. Stand With Crypto Day is about putting a face on the issue as well as educating lawmakers about this industry and technology.

One of many meetings taking place this day

Our Central cohort had seven members from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota, representing a variety of projects: a ticket marketplace, a business document transfer service, and a couple of musicians leveraging blockchain for better connection with fans and consumers.

Brandon took the testimonials many of you provided to create a handout for the lawmakers.

BIG thanks to those of you submitting these words for our representatives! Each office eagerly received this document, contributing much to our cohort which itself contributed much to the whole 60-member team of Stand With Crypto representatives stretching from Hawaii to Rhode Island.

To conclude, we attended a reception featuring an all-star panel.

Discussion here focused on facilitating bipartisan support that looks past differences & distractions as well as the priority of stablecoin legislationbeing voted on THIS WEEK!

Altogether, it homed in on a legislative goal and the teamwork needed to see it through. It was a fitting message for this day and our efforts moving forward!

Stay tuned for such efforts. Let us know if you have any questions. You can email us at connect@mnblockchain.org or connect at the socials and Slack community below.
