  • Digital currency venture Circle was founded by Jeremy Allaire, who had graduated from Macalaster (St. Paul) and had a software startup here.
  • Best-selling author and bitcoin-trading luminary Peter L. Brandt has a seasonal home in the Twin Cities.
  • The Founder and CEO of Nano cryptocurrency, Colin LeMahieu started his career in software in Minnesota where he earned a Computer Science degree at St. Cloud State.
  • Prof. Bitange Ndemo who obtained an MBA from University of St. Thomas (after graduating from the Carlson School of Management) is chair of the Blockchain Taskforce for the Government of Kenya.
  • Brock Pierce, founder of Blockchain Capital and numerous other crypto ventures, was born in Minnesota and had starred in the Disney movie Mighty Ducks, which was filmed here.
